Involve Youth Project Meath runs two youth projects in the towns of Trim and Navan for young people from the Traveller Community between the ages of 10 and 20 years old. We provide over 30 hours of direct contact work through running programmes and activities to support young people reach their full potential. Our service aims to provide activities that support young people to develop the personal and social skills required to improve their life chances. These include programmes and supports covering health, education, employment and social connectedness.
We also take part in Youth work on a European level with annual European youth exchanges, Youth Dialogue programmes and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) through Erasmus+.
During these unprecedented times we are still providing supports to our young people. Although our Youth Club doors are shut our youth work staff are still available on-line and working remotely. We are providing interactive #stayathome packs where young people can engage with virtual group activities and youth workers. We are also have a designated youth worker available on-line 10am to 9pm Monday to Friday, along with daily challenges and homework support we are still keeping the young people feeling supported and busy with activities.
